Man charged after drugs, cash, ammo seized in Tweed

A man has been charged after Police seized drugs, cash and ammunition in the Tweed.

Police investigating the alleged supply of firearms and drugs on the New South Wales far north coast pulled over a vehicle in Tweed Heads just after 10am on Tuesday.

A search of a 34-year-old male passenger uncovered more than $1000 in cash.

Officers later searched a home on Anne St in Chinderah, seizing cannabis, methylamphetamine, ammunition, firearm parts and mobile phones.

The man was taken to Tweed Hospital for treatment to a pre-existing injury before being transferred to Tweed Heads Police station.

He has been charged with 37 offences including  acquire ammunition subject to prohibition, acquire firearm part subject to prohibition, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, possess prohibited drug, deal with the proceeds of crime and organise/conduct/assist drug premises.

The man has been refused bail and will front Tweed Heads Local Court today.
