Man charged after highspeed chase on the M1, Gold Coast

A Gold Coast man will front court today, charged over multiple dangerous driving offences along the M1.

Police say a 2017 Holden Commodore was seen by a number of motorists speeding down the motorway around 11.00am yesterday.

Some witnesses report the car was doing more than 150 kilometres an hour.


Police eventually tracked the vehicle down and pulled it over at Mudgeeraba.

Officers will allege that when the 25-year-old driver did become violent before he was arrested.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to a small cut before being charged.

He’ll face charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstructing police, possessing utensils and false plates.
