Man charged after kids grand final called off over “off-field incidents”

A man has been charged with intimidation and affray following an incident at a sporting event in NSW.

It’s alleged the 37-year-old pushed a volunteer to the ground, before threatening him and a number of bystanders at a junior rugby league grand final in Dubbo on September 16.

Police say there were a number of “off-field incidents” at Caltex Park on Cobra Road on the day.


“Just before 4pm a junior rugby league grand final was called off due to a number of on-field incidents,” a Police statement explains.

Following inquiries, about 5pm on Friday 22 September, the man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station, where he was charged with affray, behave in offensive manner and intimidation.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court on 15 November 2017.
