A MAN has been charged after allegedly leading police on a pursuit through the streets of the Gold Coast overnight.
Around 6.40pm, officers spotted a stolen car with stolen NSW registration plates on Smith Street at Parkwood.
As they attempted to intercept the vehicle, it sped off.

The police chopper was then called in to track the car, which was seen stopping at Marine Parade in Southport, with a man jumping out.
The man was tracked by PolAir walking down High Street and onto Scarborough Street where he was detained by a dog squad officer.
The 31-year-old, who police say has no fixed place of abode, has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, obstruct police, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a restricted item, utensil, tainted property, possession of property suspected stolen and stealing alternatively receiving.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
