Man charged after over $500K of cannabis, guns found at Tweed property

POLICE have charged a man with multiple offences after over half a million dollars worth of cannabis and guns were found during a raid at a property near Tweed Heads.

Officers searched the home on Slash Pine Road, Glengarrie on Tuesday morning, allegedly uncovering 103 cannabis plants, 3.7kg of cannabis leaf, a Ruger .203 rifle with ammunition, mobile phones and a number of items used in the cultivation of prohibited plants.

NSW Police have said the total estimated potential street value of the cannabis is $533,000.


More than $30,000 in cash was also found.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged with deal with property proceeds of crime, enhanced indoor cultivate prohibited plant-expose child, supply cannabis – indictable, possess unregistered firearm – not prohibited firearm/pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and not keep firearm safely – not prohibited firearm.

He was granted conditions bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on on August 17.
