Man charged after scissors embedded in woman’s skull

A MAN has been charged after he allegedly hurled a pair of scissors at his partner, with the sharp object becoming embedded in the woman’s head.

The horrific incident is understood to have happened at a home in  Ashmont, NSW around 1.30pm on December 3.

“Police have been told that the woman asked for a pair of scissors from her partner, who allegedly threw them at her,” police said in a statement.


“The woman put her head down and covered her face, but was struck in the top of her head.”

Emergency crews were called to the scene and found the young woman with a pair of scissors embedded in the top of her skull, that were unable to be removed.

She was treated at the scene before being rushed to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police say the injured woman appears to be in good health after her treatment.

A 21-year-old man has since been charged with recklessly wound any other person and refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today.
