Man charged after threatening woman with machete, baseball bat at Logan car park

A man has been arrested and charged after an alleged robbery in a car park in Logan last night.

The 26-year-old was allegedly travelling in a sedan stolen from Coomera, which was being tracked by Polair travelling from Woodridge to Eagleby.

It was observed pulling into a car park in Eagleby around 8.00pm.


Police saw the man then approached a parked vehicle and threatened the female driver with a machete and baseball bat, demanding that she get out.

A male witness then challenged the alleged robber, causing him to flee on foot.

Police found him a short time later and arrested him.

He’s been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, armed robbery and another 11 related charges, and will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow (January 28).

The Toyota Kluger sedan was stolen from Rivina Circuit, Coomera sometime between 8.00am and 9.00am on January 25.

The female driver and male witness were not injured.
