A man is due to face court today charged over the horrifying assault of a 79-year-old man in O’Connell on the weekend.
Police say that around 8pm Saturday, the older man was treated for multiple fractures and lacerations after he was attacked by a 46-year-old man.
The younger man was arrested at a home in O’Connell, 25km from south of Bathurst, about 11am Sunday.

He was charged with multiple offences including special aggravated break and enter with into – armed with a dangerous weapon, Recklessly cause grievous bodily harm, Destroy or damage property, Possess unregistered firearm, Use unregistered firearm, Not keep firearm safely.
He is due to face Bathurst Local Court today.
Police say that the assault is believed to be domestic related.
