Man charged over arson attack on NSW church
A man has been charged with setting fire to a church in NSW yesterday.
Police said that about 1.30am, emergency services were called to the church at Taree following reports of a fire inside.
Fire & Rescue NSW managed to quickly extinguished the blaze, however the church sustained significant smoke damage and some fire damage.
Specialist forensic officers examined the site and deemed the fire to be suspicious, with police yesterday arresting a 25-year-old man.
He has been charged with malicious damage by fire and is due to appear at Taree Local Court today.
