A MAN has been charged with the assault of a 16-year-old boy following investigations into a disturbance at a home in Springfield on Wednesday.
Police allege the boy was assaulted during an altercation with the man at a house on Danube Street around 2.00pm.
A short time later, police responded to the incident which involved officers discharging firearms at the 16-year-old, who was armed with a knife at the time.

The boy was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 43-year-old man has since been charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
The Ethical Standards Command is continuing its investigation into the actions of the police officers during the incident.
