A 32-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery after an alleged carjacking in Upper Coomera on Sunday night.
Police allege he approached a man and a woman who were sitting in a car in a car park on Days Road and asked for a lift.
When the pair refused to let him in their vehicle, he allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded the keys to the car and drove it to a nearby house on Reserve Road.

It will be alleged that the man and the male victim got into a fight, before the offender was restrained by nearby residents who called police.
The male victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for minor injuries and luckily no one else was injured.
The Arundel man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates court today.
