Man charged after cops seize gun during domestic dispute

A man has been arrested and charged after police seized a shotgun from a unit following a domestic disturbance in Sydney’s south.

Officers were called to a domestic dispute at a unit block on Railway Crescent in Jannali around 7pm last night.

A 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Sutherland Police Station for questioning.

Police then returned to the Railway Crescent address and allegedly located a shortened shotgun and ammunition inside the unit.

The man was charged with common assault, unauthorised possession of firearm, possess unregistered firearm, posses shortened firearm, possess ammunition without licence or permit, and not keep firearm safe.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today.
