Man charged after crashing into pole in Southport
A driver faces a whole host of charges after crashing into a pole in Southport overnight.
At around 11.30PM on Thursday night, a man drove his car into a pole on Wardoo Street. He allegedly tried to run off but was prevented by an off-duty officer.
The 35-year-old from Springfield Lakes refused to take a breath test at the scene and has been slapped with multiple offences, including not having a licence and obstructing police.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said the man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
He is due in Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.
