Man charged after father, two kids threatened with gun at campground

A father and his two children have been threatened by a man armed with a gun while camping south of Grafton.

Police said the terrifying incident occurred around 6.30pm on Tuesday, when the man was with his teenage son and daughter at a public camping reserve at Buccarumbi.

A man allegedly approached the trio, threatening them with a firearm before driving away and firing two shots.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Following ongoing investigations, police yesterday arrested a 39-year-old man was arrested at his home in Dalmorton.

He was taken to Grafton Police Station where he was charged with five counts of intimidation and one count each of threaten injury with intent to commit indictable offence, and use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.

The man is due to face Grafton Local Court on Monday 23 January 2017.
