A MAN has been charged with holding a man hostage and brutally bashing him inside a house near Coffs Harbour.
Police allege the incident took place at a home on Pine Avenue at Ulong on Friday afternoon, 23 September.
It’s alleged a 26-year-old man attended the home where he was assaulted by a 50-year-old man inside.

The older man allegedly repeatedly punched the victim before threatening him with a knife.
Police said the older man then proceeded to bash the man, shattering his jaw.
The 50-year-old then allegedly ordered his victim not to leave the house.
Injured, the 26-year-old remained inside the house for 24 hours. He left the property on Saturday and reported the incident to police on the following Wednesday.
The man was treated at Grafton Hospital for a broken jaw and numerous lacerations and bruises.
Following police investigations, victim’s alleged attacker was arrested in Grafton last Tuesday.
The 50-year-old man has since been charged with take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage cause grievous bodily harm (DV), reckless grievous bodily harm (DV), and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear in court on 8 November.
