A MAN has been charged after he allegedly led police on a dramatic pursuit through Coffs Harbour early this morning.
Police attempted to pull over the man’s white Subaru Impreza on the Pacific Highway around 1am, but he allegedly failed to stop.
A short time later, officers again attempted to stop the vehicle after spotting it travelling along Gaudrons Road at Sapphire Beach.

This time, officers gave chase after the driver again allegedly failed to stop. Police pursued the vehicle to a caravan park at Moonee Beach where it stopped and the man attempted to flee on foot.
The 24-year-old was arrested nearby however and found to be in possession of a knife.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with a number of offences including police pursuit (not stop), possession of a knife in a public place and possession of ammunition.
The man was refused bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
