Man charged following siege in NSW

A man has been charged following a siege in Campsie overnight.

About 12.30am, officers were called to a boarding house on Second Avenue, following reports of a man allegedly armed with a knife locked in a room.

Police have been told the man threatened another man after an argument.

Local police, with the assistance of specialist officers, spoke to the man, and just before 3am, he surrendered.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police searched the property, where they located and allegedly seized a number of knives.

The 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with intimidation.

He was refused bail, to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
