Man charged for shining laser at police helicopter
A MAN has been charged after allegedly shining a laser at the police helicopter in Beenleigh on Sunday night.
Police say around 8.40pm, the police helicopter was conducting airborne patrols of the Beenleigh area when the crew noticed a laser light being shone at them from a shed in Skyline Circuit, Bahr’s Scrub.
The helicopter crew reported the incident and police attended the address where they spoke with the 28-year-old man inside and charged him.
He was charged with threatening the safety of an aircraft and possessing a restricted item.
He is scheduled to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 10.
