Man charged after going on violent rampage at Coffs Harbour hospital

A man has been charged after going on a violent rampage at a hospital in Coffs Harbour while armed with a machete.

Police said that around 1.30pm yesterday, the 34-year-old attended the Coffs Harbour Health Campus and began smashing windows near the entrance.

After destroying nine windows, the man then left the scene in his car.


Following investigations, police attended a house in Beryl Street about 8.30am this morning to speak to the man. During discussions he allegedly became aggressive and was arrested.

He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and charged with malicious damage and resist arrest. He is expected to face Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
