Man charged with high-range drink driving after ute slams into house

The front yard of a house has been badly damaged after an alleged drink driver lost control in Sydney’s south.

Police were called to the corner of Gymea Bay Road and Barraran Street in Gymea Bay just after 11.30pm on Saturday, after reports a man had crashed his ute.

They found a Holden Utility had left the road and travelled through the garden of a home before crashing into a barrier wall.

The crash caused significant damage; however, no one was injured.

They carried out a roadside breath test on the 53-year-old, which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged high-range reading of 0.158.

He was given bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court in September.
