The baby’s aunt Sandra Houston has been charged with the girl’s murder and remains in custody.
Her case was this week adjourned until April but she’s expected to make a bail application in the Supreme Court.
It was revealed the baby had been placed in the care of Houston following the death of her sister.
Police have today charged a 37-year-old man from Waterford West in relation to the girl’s death.
He’s been charged with six counts of leaving a child unattended and one count of child cruelty.
He’s due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 14.
