Man charged with indecently assaulting woman on NSW train

A 19-year-old has been charged after allegedly indecently assaulting a woman on a train in Sydney’s north on Saturday.

Police said the 22-year-old woman was on board a train travelling between Town Hall and Chatswood when around 345pm a man sat next to her and allegedly inappropriately touched her.

Following investigations, detectives yesterday morning attended a home in North Parramatta where they arrested a 19-year-old man.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with assault with act of indecency and common assault.

The man was bailed to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 6 September.
