Man charged with killing wheelchair bound woman who drowned in pond
After months of investigations, police have today charged a man with the murder of a wheelchair bound woman, found dead in a pond in Adelaide’s south parklands.
“Detectives from the South Australia Police Major Crime Investigation Branch investigating the drowning death of Helen Dansie earlier this year have today arrested a 68-year-old man,” police said in a statement.
The 67-year-old’s body and wheelchair were recovered from the pond in Veale Gardens in April, with her death declared a major crime.
“Since that time, detectives have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the death with those inquiries culminating in today’s arrest,” detectives said in the statement.
The 68-year-old man has been charged with murder and is expected to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates Court today having been refused police bail.
