Man charged with murder after allegedly belting stabbed man with bat

A MAN has been charged with murder after allegedly killing another man in a brawl at a house in NSW.

Police said two men, aged 41 and 31, allegedly became embroiled in a fight at a house in Corowa, west of Albury, around midday on Saturday.

It’s understood the pair sustained multiple stab wounds during the altercation, before a third 42-year-old man intervened and smacked the 41-year-old over the head with a baseball bat.

He was rushed to Corowa Hospital with serious stab wounds and life-threatening head injuries, but he could not be saved and died shortly after arriving.

The 33-year-old man was taken to the same hospital with multiple stab wounds and internal bleeding.

He has since been moved to Albury Hospital where he remains today in a serious condition.

The 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Corowa Police Station for questioning.

He has since been charged with murder and was due to face Albury Local Court today.

Police said all three men were believed to know each other.
