Man charged with murder over horror Brisbane stabbing

A MAN has been charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his ex-wife’s new partner to death in front of her kids at Alexandra Hills, east of Brisbane, on Tuesday.

Police were called to a Brompton Street home around 11.50pm after reports two men had allegedly been stabbed.

When they arrived, officers found a 37-year-old Hillcrest man with life-threatening stab wounds. He died at the scene.


A second man, a 39-year-old from Tingalpa, was found with critical injuries. He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition where he remains.

It’s believed this man breached a domestic violence order and attended the Brompton Street home where it’s alleged he stabbed the younger man to death.

He has since been charged with murder, enter dwelling with intent and contravention domestic violence order.

The man faced a bedside hearing today and has been remanded in custody until 6 February next year.
