Man faces GC court after being charged with estranged wife’s murder

UPDATE @ November 14, 2.00pm: A MAN has been remanded in custody after facing court, charged with the murder of his estranged wife.

The body of 51-year-old Kym Cobby was found by a neighbour on Arthur Payne Court in Worongary around 11.15pm on Sunday night.

Queensland Police said the mother-of-three had suffered fatal head injuries.


Andrew Cobby, 55, was found in a street not far away suffering from superficial injuries and taken to hospital.

He was questioned for several hours before being charged with murder on Monday afternoon.

Mr Cobby is due to reappear in Southport Magistrates Court on December 7.

EARLIER @ November 13, 3.00pm: A MAN has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found on a Gold Coast street overnight.

The 51-year-old woman was found by a neighbour, who was returning home from a late night work shift, on Arthur Payne Court in Worongary around 11.15pm.

Queensland Police said the woman had suffered fatal head injuries.

A 55-year-old Ashmore man, who is known to the woman, was arrested by police and charged with her murder after being interviewed by detectives for several hours.

He is due to face the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Investigations are continuing.
