Man charged over alleged rape of woman on Sydney street

A MAN is due to appear in court today, charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on a night out in Sydney last week.

Police allege the man approached a 22-year-old woman outside a Surry Hills bar just after 1.30am on Sunday 27 October, after she became separated from her friends.

The pair then walked to Turner Lane in Woolloomooloo, where police were told she was sexually assaulted.

Clothing was also seized during a raid on a home in Yennora.

The man has since been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault – inflict actual bodily harm on victim.

He’s set to appear before Parramatta Bail Court this afternoon.
