Man charged over alleged stabbing at Walgett
A MAN has been charged after allegedly stabbing another man in the NSWÂ North West overnight.
Police say a 25-year-old man attended a home on Euroka Street, Walgett, at around 12.30am and became involved in an altercation with a 30-year-old male resident.
During the altercation, the 30-year-old man allegedly stabbed the 25-year-old man, who then left the home before collapsing in a yard down the street.
He was taken by Ambulance Paramedics to Walgett Base Hospital before being flown to Dubbo Base Hospital for further treatment. He is believed to be in a stable condition.
Police from Castlereagh Local Area Command attended the scene and commenced inquiries.
The 30-year-old man was arrested on Duff Street, and taken to Walgett Police Station.
He was charged with reckless wounding and was refused bail to appear at Walgett Local Court today.
