Man charged over armed robbery at Gold Coast supermarket

A Brisbane man will front court today, charged over an armed robbery at a supermarket in Pimpama last night.

Police say the 45-year-old entered the supermarket on Jacobs Well Road and demanded money from the staff, before fleeing.

He then allegedly pulled a gun on staff who were trying to chase him.


The dog squad were called in shortly after 7.30pm, before tracking the man down to nearby bushland and arresting him.

The man – from Aspley – has been charged with one count each of entering premises and armed robbery.

He’ll appear at Southport Magistrates Court today.
