POLICE have charged a man over Sunday’s Hope Island service station robbery that sparked an online man-hunt.
Police say he entered the business on Broadwater Avenue around 3.20am, took a drink from the fridge and then produced a fire arm.
The worker hid in a back room and the offender made his escape.

However, he wasn’t thrifty enough to escape CCTV cameras, which caught his every move.
Police released images of the offender, as well as a car that may have been involved in the incident, in a bid to track him down or obtain further information.
A 19-year-old Thornlands man has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
