A Logan man’s been charged with the attempted murder of a woman after allegedly trying to suffocate a woman.
Police allege that a 38-year-old woman went to a unit along Vitko Street in Woodridge around 10.15 am yesterday in order to collect some property.
On arrival, a 35-year-old man who is known to her allegedly assaulted and suffocated her.

He then allegedly used a knife to cause a significant laceration to her throat.
The man contacted the police about an hour after the alleged attempt.
He was arrested at the scene and taken to Logan Hospital, where he remains under police guard.
The woman was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition with significant head and facial injuries.
A 35-year-old Woodridge man has now been charged with one count of attempted murder and is due to front Beenleigh court today.
