Paramedics treated the baby at the home before rushing her to Westmead Children’s Hospital where she later died.
Police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the sudden death and, following lengthy inquiries, arrested a 26-year-old man at a correctional facility in Bathurst this morning.
He was taken to Bathurst Police Station where he has since been charged with one count of murder.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Bathurst Local Court tomorrow.
