Man charged over spate of Logan business break-ins

A man has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly breaking into a number of different businesses in Logan.

The 40-year-old was busted on CCTV allegedly walking around a complex on University Drive in Meadowbrook just after midnight on June 28, where he was seen looking into cars and office building windows.

The man left the complex before returning around 2pm that same afternoon, where he allegedly broke into four businesses and stole multiple sets of car keys, old mobile phones and a small amount of cash.

Police say the man then used one of the sets of keys to break into a Hyundai iLoad van, before allegedly driving it to another office in the same complex where he was then seen leaving in a Toyota Corolla, which is alleged to have been stolen from another one of the businesses.

Following investigations, officers tracked the car down at a Sunnybank train station on June 29, where they found the man sitting inside the vehicle.

He was arrested and charged with six counts of enter with intent and three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The man is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 6.
