Man charged over terrifying carjacking at Logan car wash

A car wash worker has been threatened by a man armed with a knife in a terrifying carjacking in Logan.

Police say the 20-year-old man allegedly approached the vehicle after it was left unattended for a short period of time at the Browns Plains car wash centre around 3.30pm yesterday.

He was confronted by staff before pulling out a knife and taking off in the car.

Thankfully the vehicle was fitted with a tracking device, so officers were able to follow the car to a nearby home where the man was arrested.

The 20-year-old Regents Park man was charged with one count of armed robbery.

He’s due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, September 16.
