Man charged over theft of thousands of rapid COVID tests

A man has been charged over the alleged theft of 42,000 rapid antigen tests in Sydney.

The tests were allegedly taken from a freight depot in Botany on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers raided a storage facility in Rosebery on Wednesday arresting three men.

Those men were taken to Mascot Police station but were released without charge after being questioned.

A fourth man was arrested at Mascot Police Station on Wednesday night.

He has been charged with dishonestly obtain property by deception.

The man was refused bail and will front Central Local Court on Thursday.

Police say investigations are continuing.
