Man charged over violent Surfers assault to remain in custody for a few more days

A MAN accused of a violent bashing in Surfers Paradise will spend a couple more nights behind bars.

The Oxenford man arrested on Saturday night and charged with grievous bodily harm after he allegedly punched and stomped on another man outside the Mantra Crown Towers.

The victim remains in the Gold Coast University Hospital.


The 37-year-old today applied for bail in the Southport Magistrates Court.

The application was adjourned to Wednesday to give the Gold Coast University Hospital time to put together an updated medical report.
