Man charged with “predatory driving” after shocking road rage incident

A MAN has been charged with predatory driving after allegedly using his luxury Mercedes to ram a motorcyclist – not once, but twice – in a shocking road rage attack in Sydney’s CBD.

Police said the 38-year-old man became involved in a dispute with a 30-year-old man on a Yamaha motorcycle on Abercrombie Street at Chippendale around 12.15pm on Wednesday.

The 38-year-old is then accused of deliberately reversing his AMG Mercedes into the motorcycle while stopped at the intersection of Smail and Bay streets at Ultimo.

The rider was forced to dive off the bike to avoid serious injury.

Police said the 38-year-old man in the Mercedes then allegedly drove around a roundabout before returning to the scene and deliberately driving straight over the damaged motorbike.

Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command responded and the located the Mercedes on Mountain Street.

The driver was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station where he was later charged with predatory driving, drive motor vehicle menaces another with intent, and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.
