NSW: A MAN has been charged after a punch-up between two men escalated into a shooting outside a house north of Newcastle.
The drama unfolded outside a property on Masonite Road at Tomago, near Raymond Terrace, around 5.20pm yesterday.
Police allege the 40-year-old man became embroiled in a “physical altercation” with a 41-year-old man at the address.

The two men then separated before the 40-year-old allegedly returned with a firearm and fired a shot in the air.
Fortunately, no one was injured by the shot.
Police swooped on the area and arrested the younger man. Officers searched the property and allegedly located and seized a firearm and four cannabis plants.
The 40-year-old man was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with firing a firearm in or near a public place, using an unauthorised firearm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and cultivating a prohibited plant.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
