Man charged with raping 61-year-old woman in shower block

A man who allegedly raped a 61-year-old woman at a remote campsite in Western Australia has been arrested and charged.

The violent assault allegedly took place at a caravan park in the small remote town of Meekatharra, in the state’s Mid West.

Police said the 61-year-old woman was allegedly raped in the shower block at around 11.45pm on Thursday, 30 June.

It’s alleged the woman was in the shower for some time before a man burst in and sexually assaulted her.

Western Australia police today confirmed a 32-year-old man had been arrested over the sickening attack.

He will appear before the Meekatharra Magistrates Court today, charged with three counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.
