A man, who also lives at the home, approached the 35-year-old in an effort to calm him down, however he pushed past him and made his way into the house where he found his 30-year-old sister.
“It’s alleged he pushed her into a window that smashed causing a large laceration to her arm. He’s then allegedly punched the woman a number of times before being pulled off her by the male occupant,” police explained in a statement.
“The man ran from the premises, with his sister’s mobile phone, and got into his vehicle and drove away.”
Later that night, about 11.40pm, officers attended a home in Tregear where they arrested the 35-year-old man.
He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence (wounding) and steal from person.
He was given conditional bail and will appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 22 November.
The woman was taken to Mt Druitt Hospital for treatment to her injuries.
