Man charged with smashing schooner glass in stranger’s face
NSW: A MAN has been arrested and charged after he allegedly smashed a schooner glass in a strangers face outside a licenced premises on the state’s south coast.
Police said the incident allegedly occurred on a deck outside a licenced premises on the Princes Highway in Fairy Meadow on Friday 9 September.
It was around 11.45pm when police said a 35-year-old man became embroiled in a fight with a 25-year-old man.
During the altercation, it’s alleged the younger man smashed a schooner glass in the older man’s face.
The 35-year-old sustained a “deep laceration” to his face. He attended Corrimal Medical Centre where he received seven stitches.
He attended Wollongong Police Station last Sunday and reported the incident to police.
As a result, the 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday and charged with reckless wounding.
He was released on conditional bail to to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 4 October.
