Man charged with snapping boys leg in Sydney park

A MAN has been charged with reckless wounding causing grievous bodily harm after allegedly snapping a young teenage boy’s leg in a park on Sydney’s northern beaches.

Police say they were called to reports of an assault in Harbord Park at Freshwater around 4pm on Tuesday.

On arrival, they found a 13-year-old boy with a broken leg. He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said it was alleged the teen had been crash-tackled to the ground by an 18-year-old man who then ran from the scene.

The 18-year-old was arrested yesterday and has since been charged with reckless wounding causing grievous bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday 12 October.
