Man charged with stabbing neighbour at NSW unit complex

A man has been charged with stabbing his neighbour at a unit complex at Wollongong overnight.

Police said that around 9.00pm, emergency services were called to a complex in Kembla Street following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers found a 50-year-old man with wounds to his hand, forearm and ear. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.

His attacker, a 36-year-old man, was arrested in a nearby unit in the building.

Police said initial investigations suggest the pair were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the stabbing.

The younger man has been charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to face court today.
