Man charged after two people strangled in Qld home

A man is due to face court today after two people were violently strangled at a home in Redbank Plains.

Police said that around 11.40am yesterday, officers were called to Aldinga Street after a 45-year-old man and 44-year-old woman had been assaulted by way of strangulation.

Following the assault, a man fled the home in a white sedan, driving dangerously before being intercepted by police.

The 21-year-old was taken into custody and charged with three counts of strangulation in a domestic relationship, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of dangerous driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed and disqualified driving, common assault, as well as two counts of contravening a direction.

He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

The man and woman suffered minor injuries in the attack.
