A man has been charged with animal cruelty after he left a puppy locked in a car on the Gold Coast yesterday.
Police say that around 3pm they attended a licensed premises on Surf Parade in Broadbeach and spoke with a man in relation to his behaviour.
Police subsequently attended the man’s car which had the puppy locked inside.

Whilst speaking with the man at the vehicle a member of the public approached police and alleged he had seen the man throw the puppy approximately three metres into the vehicle prior to leaving the puppy in the vehicle unattended.
A 27-year-old Marsden man has been charged with one count each of animal cruelty and public nuisance. He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 7.
The cattle dog puppy is in the care of an animal welfare agency and is in good health.
