A 61-year-old man has been charged with solicit to murder following an investigation by the Child Abuse Squad.
Earlier this year, detectives from the Child Abuse Squad’s Queanbeyan office received information suggesting a man was planning to have a teenager murdered.
The man had allegedly attempted to engage the services of a hit-man in order to have a 15-year-old girl from the South Coast killed.

Following their inquiries, detectives yesterday attended a government facility in Malabar, where they executed a search warrant upon a room within the facility. A number of items were seized.
Officers subsequently attended another government facility in Silverwater, where they arrested and charged a 61-year-old man with solicit to murder.
Refused bail, the man is scheduled to appear in Central Local Court today (Wednesday 19 August 2015).
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
