Man charged with attempted murder after bow and arrow rampage

A man’s been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a teenage girl with a bow and arrow while on a rampage in Booval yesterday afternoon.

Around 4.40pm, the 25-year-old Bundamba man was seen walking from Booval Railway Station along South Station Road holding a compound bow.

He’s understood to have a number of other weapons on him as well.

He alleged shot at a female jogger and a moving vehicle but missed, before moving on to a supermarket.

There he allegedly fired at a 15-year-old girl, with the arrow going through a helmet she was holding and into her stomach.

She had to be hospitalised with wounds to her hand and stomach. Thankfully, her injuries are not life threatening.

Members of the public were able to apprehend the man until police arrived and took him into custody.

He’s since been charged with attempted murder, torture and going armed so as to cause fear, and will front court today.

Anyone who may have witnessed the man, or anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV is being urged to contact police.

Investigations continue.
