Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing neighbour

A man will face court today charged with attempted murder after another man was stabbed in the neck at Nowra yesterday.

About 7.30am Thursday 26 November 2015, a 40-year-old man was standing on the rear verandah of his home when his 34-year-old neighbour allegedly ran towards him with a knife.

The older man was stabbed twice to the neck, and when he tried to run away; he was allegedly slashed to the back of the neck.


The younger man fled the scene and emergency services were called.

The injured man was taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital, before being airlifted to St George Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command arrested the younger man in Nowra’s CBD about 9am.

He was charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Nowra Local Court this morning, where bail was again refused. He will front the same court again on Monday 30 November 2015.
