Man charged with child grooming, using webcam to perform indecent acts
A man will face court today charged with allegedly grooming children online.
In July 2014, Western Australian Police commenced investigations into the online activities of a man, who was traced back to NSW.
It’s alleged the man made a number of sexually explicit comments and used a webcam to commit inappropriate acts, while speaking with an officer who had assumed the identity of a 12-year-old girl.
NSW police were alerted and an investigation commenced.
Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home in Holsworthy on Thursday.
Police arrested a 54-year-old man and took him to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 for sexual activity, and using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to person under 16.
The man was refused bail, to appear before Liverpool Local Court today.
