A Gold Coast man charged with the manslaughter of his neighbour, who died following an alleged fight over the feeding of birds, has been refused bail.
Trevor Dale Wheeler appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday, just one day after the fatal altercation.
The 48-year-old and his 60-year-old neighbour Bradley Ward became involved in a verbal altercation outside a home on Whiting Street in Labrador around 5.15am on Wednesday.

Police allege the altercation then turned physical, with the older man knocked to the ground and bashed with a wooden instrument, believed to be a broomstick.
He managed to stand up and walk a short distance, but collapsed shortly after and died at the scene.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident and are particularly keen to speak to a female jogger seen in the area at the time.
Police said the woman was dressed in black pants and a white or grey shirt, and she passed the Whiting Street scene around 5.35am.
The woman, or anyone else with information, is urged to come forward.
Mr Wheeler has been remanded in custody to next appear in court on December 15.
